Advent calendar for mobile phones

There is a new addition to the huge variety of the well-known advent calendars. Besides the classical advent calendars made of different materials from this year onwards we can open the daily little windows hiding messages on a mobile phone as well, thanks to an application. The free application is already very popular among children, the youth and grown-ups and is available either in Hungarian or in a multi language version. 

The person, who invented and implemented the idea is István Sándor Horváth, a catholic priest in Zalalövő (Hungary, Diocese of Szombathely). In September 2011 father István has made the first Hungarian, catholic mobile application that gives access to the daily gospels on smartphones. Seeing its great popularity, he decided to make a new application that helps us prepare for Christmas during the advent period. The Advent 2011 application available in Hungarian contains biblical texts and messages for the days of the week, Sundays and Christmas Eve and features Advent candle lighting and a music player as well. The content can be shared easily with our friends on Facebook. 

The other version, the Advent 2011+ application contains the messages apart from the Hungarian in other languages as well, in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. As for its functions the multi language program is identical with the Hungarian one, but it does not contain the Hungarian songs.
