Enough of priests' defamation! – website for testimonies launched by famous Franciscan

Turning deserted church estates into homes, Fr. Csaba Böjte OFM and his team of volunteers have given shelter, education, hope and trust for thousands of orphaned and street children in Romania. The Franciscan of Hungarian nationality has now launched a website for personal testimonies about great, faithful, Spirit-filled priests – testimonies that never appear in the mainstream media.

In his letter published on Easter Monday, the founder of the Saint Francis Foundation of Deva wrote, "We need to talk about the one percent who irresponsibly soiled children trusted to their care, but we also need to talk about all the others, the priests who bent down to them with incredible kindness and caring love. I encourage all to post whatever good and beautiful we have received from God through our priests or religious. Let us fill the internet with the life stories and actions of persons dedicated to God; of persons we are proud of."

Upon Fr. Böjte's encouragement, a new website was launched by young lay Christians on 7th April. The site provides an opportunity for anyone – without the need to register – to share their stories about priests and religious who have influenced their lives positively. Within a short time dozens of testimonies by Hungarians have arrived at the site, which is also available in English. The site designers welcome testimonies and request the visitors to "symbolically light a candle this way and pray for a priest who they know is quietly fulfilling his vocation in God's vineyard."

The English version of the website can be found at www.thisismypriest.com.
